Bylovette: a journey, pt 1

 

In bylovette’s infancy, I was designing and hand carving block prints based on nearly any subject matter I found interesting at the time . My canvases for these prints were personally thrifted t-shirts, jean jackets, sweat pants and crewnecks; originally meant to only be worn by myself & close friends. 

 

It wasn’t until I combined my interests of renaissance era sculptures, sans serif fonts and modern streetwear along with the phonetic sound of my last name that I had unintentionally birthed my brand; through the creation of my first and favorite carving, entitled “David Loves It”. After experimenting with more complex and meaningful designs, being pushed by the mentors surrounding me and lots of deep introspective thought, I officially coined the bylovette brand you know today.

 

While this is merely a simple prelude, it is also the beginning of a long story that has yet to be written. Bylovette pieces are designed to not only be aesthetically pleasing but also as a way of showing ones inner expression of “love” worn on the external self. 

 

These pieces are made for those that can’t finish a sentence without that word, the ones who shout it for all to hear,  the ones that can only whisper it to those they hold close and the ones that sometimes struggle to say it.
